Prof Subra Suresh is a member of the board of the Villars Institute Foundation. Subra Suresh is President of Global Learning Council of the Villars Institute, Switzerland. He is currently: Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council of Société Générale, the French financial group; Professor at Large at Brown University; member of the Board of Trustees of California Institute of Technology; and Vannevar Bush Professor Emeritus at MIT. He was previously President of Carnegie Mellon University, President of Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Dean of Engineering at MIT, and Director of US National Science Foundation (NSF).
\nElected as a member of all three US national academies of engineering, sciences, and medicine, Professor Suresh has been recognized by three United States Presidents and awarded 20 honorary doctorates by universities around the world. He is a recipient of the National Medal of Science, the highest honor accorded to an American scientist, the Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by the President of France, and the Padma Shri from the President of India. Suresh has served as a member of the Board of Directors and as a member of advisory boards of public and private companies.
