His earlier books include Earthly Order: How Natural Laws Define Human Life (Oxford University Press), which had a cover endorsement from Chemistry Nobel laureate Roald Hoffmann;  Treasures of the Earth: Need Greed and a Sustainable Future which was hailed by Nobel peace laureate Muhammad Yunus as providing “a welcome linkage between environmental behavior and poverty alleviation,” and Soil to Foil: Aluminum and the Quest from Industrial Sustainability, which was endorsed by environmental writer Bill McKibben.
