Clare Matterson CBE is the Director General of the RHS - Royal Horticultural Society - the world’s largest gardening charity. RHS operates five amazing gardens, national shows including the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, scientific research, professional and school education programmes as well as community outreach.
\nPreviously she was Executive Director of Engagement at the Natural History Museum responsible for all public-facing museum and commercial activities, communications and international partnerships. She led the development of the five acre transformation of the NHM gardens.
\nShe served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer at EAT in Norway to develop its strategy and align its work. EAT is dedicated to transforming the global food system to provide healthy and sustainable food that is accessible and affordable to all.
\nClare spent 17 years with the Wellcome Trust as it grew into a multi-billion dollar foundation, leading its work in engagement, education, policy and strategy. With a strong strategic, creative streak and the ability to build teams and make things happen, Clare led many of Wellcome's transformative initiatives, including being one of the founders of Wellcome Collection, leading Wellcome's Our Planet Our Health initiative and establishing the UK's National STEM Learning Centre.
